The General Management is responsible for the operation and direction of all FCR's units. It oversees business strategy, day-to-day operations and compliance with research objectives. It is responsible for narrowing the gap between academia and industry by fostering links between industry contacts and academic research groups.
Pilar Parada has been the Foundation's General Manager since January 2019. She is a biochemist from the University of Chile, holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a Diploma in Innovation Strategy from MIT.
In addition, she is the Director of Fraunhofer Chile's Biotechnology Center.
Her main mission as General Manager is to support the management and development of Fraunhofer in Chile and to intertwine the activities carried out in conjunction with Germany's Fraunhofer Institutes.
