Universidade de Talca

Talca University was founded in 1981 and is described by recent rankings and measures as the best state university in the regions. Since its inception, Talca University has considered research and its impact on society as one of its strategic priorities in order to enable it to contribute the economic development of Chile.

For this reason it has 10 technology centers: bioinformatics and molecular simulation, geomatics, research and transfer in irrigation and agroclimatology, plant breeding and phenomics, apple research, systems engineering, the technology center for vine and wines, the technology center for soils and crops, the poplar technology center and teh technology center for environmental hydrology.

Fraunhofer CSB is working with the Faculty of Chemistry in industrial nanotechnology and the poplar technology center in applied genetics.
